The Stanley Cup is in Afghanistan, visiting the troops. And helping fight off the hordes of the east, specifically Persia, no doubt.
In somewhat related news, the Cup was originally named the Dominion Hockey Challenge Cup, and it was established by Lord Stanley, the Earl of Preston and representative of the Queen, Sovereign over all of the British Empire. I'm told, however, that at an unspecified point in the last century, the entire ruling class renounced their Empire, and began to act in a selfless manner to uphold democracy the world over.
Dominion Weblogs compiles the weblogs of Dominion editors and writers. The topics discussed are wide-ranging, but Canadian Foreign Policy, grassroots politics, and independent media are chief among them.
