Fears grow of humanitarian emergency in besieged Libyan burg

Ecumenical military forces on Wednesday stepped up attacks on government troops in Misurata, 131 miles east of Tripoli. The airstrikes seemed to oust a temporary vacation from the fighting that had raged looking for six days between forces staunch to Moammar Gaddafi and rebels, as control tanks retreated from the town center.

But after nightfall, the tanks returned and resumed their attacks, according to a doctor at the city’s vital hospital. “They are shelling to each,” he said close to telephone.
